Smead Aerospace Faculty/Staff News - Aerospace Fac/Staff Newsletter - Oct. 25

ASC-US is a representative group of undergraduates to provide feedback to the department on curriculum, department culture and climate, student well-being, and any other issues of relevance to the AES UG student community.  It acts as a focal point for UG students to bring community-wide issues for consolidation and consideration by the department. This year’s representatives are:

We will be hosting an in-person Holiday Party on Friday, December 9 from 12-2pm in AERO 120. Food and Drink choices will be based on your response to a poll on the fac/staff Slack Channel. We'll also be holding a raffle for some prizes. Save the Date on your calendars!

The 9th International Research Symposium on problem-based learning under the theme Transforming Engineering Education 2023, IRSPBL23 TEE2023 invites proposals for extended abstracts and workshops.

TEE2023 will take place over June 21-23, 2023, in two locations: at the main campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, and at the Harvard Science and Engineering Complex in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Deadline to submit extended abstracts is November 14. For workshop proposals, the deadline is December 15.

The Office of Contracts and Grants and the Research Support Office are teaming up to help junior faculty learn key insights about CU Boulder’s research enterprise, as well as tips for a successful proposal submission, and a peek into the administrative process of submitting sponsored project proposals. This virtual workshop will be held Nov. 2 from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom. The second half of the session is scheduled for audience questions. Registration can be done online and an Outlook invitation will be sent at least 24 hours before the event.

This talk will introduce CubeSats, explore the dynamics of Earth’s radiation belts, and discuss the upcoming GTOSat CubeSat mission, which will study the radiation belts from a highly elliptical orbit, an environment in which CubeSats have never flown before.
