Research Interests

Science and manufacture of high performance aerospace structural, electronic, and composite materials. Materials processing science (solidification physics, crystal growth) and energy sciences which merge fluid mechanics and heat transfer (convective flows) with materials science. In-situ planetary (Moon, Mars) resource utilization science and technology with related design and systems engineering. Alternative energy concepts, such as solar thermal energy, hydrogen energy, and photovoltaics for terrestrial, space, and planetary applications.
