Chris ShankCongratulations to Christopher Shank (Aero MS '96), for being appointed by President-elect Donald Trump to the NASA transition landing team.

Transition teams or "landing parties" typically are named for each federal department and agency by incoming presidential administrations to do an initial review of an agency's portfolio and identify pressing issues that the new administration will have to address quickly.

Shank was most recently the policy and coalitions director for the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and was formerly deputy chief of staff for Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas). He has previous experience at Honeywell Aerospace and also served as NASA’s director of strategic investments and chief of strategic communications under President George W. Bush.
