Colorado Music Teachers Newsletter - March 20, 2023

Headlining our Annual Distinguished Lectureship, we were thrilled to welcome André de Quadros to the College of Music last week—as a conductor, ethnomusicologist, music educator, writer and human rights activist who has worked in some of the most desperate and marginalized settings, de Quadros anchored his keynote in the great tradition of freedom dreaming. He called for a new architecture of music performance and scholarly work, founded on radical compassion, dialogue and community engagement. De Quadros also visited classes, coached the University Choir, and worked with the College’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.
