Welcome to the orchestral conducting program at the University of Colorado College of Music!

We offer both master’s and doctoral degrees in orchestral conducting designed to provide a wide variety of opportunities for the graduate conductor who is interested in an academic or professional conducting career.

Gary Lewis

Gary Lewis is Director of Orchestral Studies and the Bob and Judy Charles Professor of Conducting in the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music where he conducts the CU Boulder Symphony Orchestra and oversees the entire orchestra program. He is also Music Director and Conductor of the Midland-Odessa (TX) Symphony Orchestra. At CU Boulder, Lewis also leads the graduate program in orchestral conducting including both the masters and doctoral level. His former students enjoy success as conductors with professional orchestras and opera companies, university and school ensembles, and youth orchestras. MORE
