Notable Accomplishments:
- Served as an instructor for the Army's 10th Mountain Division training group.
- Assistant Director of the National Science Foundation Program at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research in Nederland.
- Won a Fulbright award to study elephants in Uganda 1959-1960.
- Traveled more than 2,000 miles by dogsled with Indian trappers across northern British Columbia in the winter.
- Nominated twice for the Teaching Recognition Awards (1974 and 1976).
Professor Emeritus Horace F. Quick passed on September 11, 2004 at the age of 89.
