Marlene Goldman

Marlene Goldman, who joined the CU Boulder community in 2021, is a proud Black Coloradoan, born and raised in east Denver. She attended the University of New Mexico, earning her undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership. In her 10+ years as a scholarly practitioner in higher education, Marlene has developed a strong value for education as a tool for liberation, building community, and a passion for serving students who hold identities within the margins.

In Marlene’s role as the Assistant Director for Leadership and Cultural Engagement, she works closely with the BOLD team to provide strategic oversight of the student experience in the Center. Her responsibilities include managing scholarship programs, student societies, leadership development, culturally affirming programming, and alumni engagement initiatives. Additionally, she supports other BOLD staff members, encouraging authentic professionalism in an uplifting environment.

Outside the Center, you can find Marlene spending time with her senior dog, cheering on local sports teams, and enjoying the outdoors. ‘Sko Buffs!
