Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Join the College of Engineering and Applied Science for two upcoming workshops focused on preventing discrimination and sexual harassment:

Discrimination and Sexual Harassment (Oct. 5): This in-person workshop from the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance covers the university policy on sexual misconduct and protected class discrimination and harassment policy. The course will provide an overview of strategies for addressing concerns and making referrals to campus resources. (This session is part 2 of the online course and is highly encouraged.)

Effective Bystander Intervention Skills (Nov. 8): Most everyone in our campus community will witness situations where help is needed, and the actions taken by a bystander can make all the difference. In this interactive session, you will learn effective and powerful tactics to diffuse conflict or to rescue others from potentially degrading and dangerous situations. The training, facilitated by Teresa Wroe from the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance, will raise awareness about personal safety, sexual assault, and other serious issues along with the skills needed for intervening effectively.
