Alumni Engagement Medal (AEM)
This award was established in 2021 to provide an opportunity for college academic degree programs as well as the BOLD Center and ProReady to recognize highly engaged alumni who impact their areas through volunteerism and/or philanthropy. Each academic degree program and BOLD/ProReady will be able to select one recipient annually. Alumni who are selected for a DEAA or RAA are not eligible to also receive a medal in the same award year. Please submit your nomination for the Alumni Engagement Medal nomination for the 2025 Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards Banquet by January 15, 2025.
Awarding Criteria:
o Each degree program as well as the BOLD Center and ProReady in the college may select one medal recipient annually.

o The recipient must be a graduate of the CU Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science. A degree program may select an alumnus/a who graduated from a different degree program as long as they are a graduate of the college (For example: Chemical engineering could select a mechanical engineering graduate so long as the graduate is actively engaged with the chemical engineering degree program.)
o Recipient must have been significantly engaged in the degree program/BOLD Center/ProReady during the previous year. Engagement can include outstanding volunteerism including serving in a volunteer role, event and program support, student engagement, department/degree program advising, and/or philanthropic support. The intent of the award is to honor those alumni who are highly engaged at the degree program level of the college or in the BOLD Center/ProReady.
o Recipient may not be currently employed full-time by the CU Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science.
o Recipients are expected to attend the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award Banquet to receive their award. Degree program must verify that its recipient is able to attend and receive their medal in person. The 2025 banquet will be held in the evening on Friday, April 25 in Boulder, CO. Therefore, we ask that you have the initial conversation with your recipient to determine if awarded the medal in 2024, they will be able to attend the ceremony. When you submit your recipient information to us, we will assume that you have verified that the recipient is able to attend the banquet.
o Degree program/BOLD Center/ProReady may elect not to award an Alumni Engagement Medal in any given year they are unable to identify an alumnus/a deserving of the award.
