Letter from previous BOLD Center Director, Dr. Tanya Ennis

Tanya Ennis
Dear BOLD Center students,

I hope you are doing well!

I am writing to inform you that I am transitioning to a new role in CEAS and will no longer serve as the BOLD Center Director. I'm starting my new position as the SpectrumX and Research Support Office Broadening Participation Director. I have transitioned to the Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department and have an appointment in the College of Engineering and Applied Science Research Support Office. I plan to engage the BOLD Center with the SpectrumX Center and share the multiple student opportunities available to engage with spectrum technologies. I also plan to engage the BOLD Center on more CEAS research grants through my work in the Research Support Office.

I remain committed to the work to support social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in engineering for underrepresented, marginalized and underestimated students. This new position will give me the opportunity to impact this work more broadly.

I encourage all of you to press forward to finish the spring 2022 semester successfully! I know that the last two years have been challenging, yet you have demonstrated your resilience to persevere through challenging times. This experience has fostered an unbreakable strength in you that will last a lifetime. Although I am moving on to a new direction in my career, my heart will always be with you!  Please keep the BOLD Center community strong, vibrant and loving and look out for each other as you always have. Thank you for bringing me joy every day that I stepped into the BOLD Center.

I look forward to seeing you around campus and to celebrating your successes in the near and distant future!

Sincerely,

Dr. Tanya Ennis
