Alireza Doostan is currently an associate professor and Rome Faculty Fellow in the Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department as well as an affiliated faculty with the Applied Mathematics Department. Prior to joining CU Boulder in 2010, he was an engineering research associate and a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Turbulence Research at Stanford University. He received his PhD in Structural Engineering and M.A. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the Johns Hopkins University both in 2007. He is the recipient of the NSF Early Career Research Award in 2015 and the DOE ASCR Early Career Research Award in 2011. His research interests include: Uncertainty quantification, model reduction, model verification and validation, and computational stochastic mechanics.
