InsulatorVision Pro utilizes computer vision to monitor the position of transmission line insulators in real-time, aiming to improve the efficiency and longevity of our power grid. Sponsored by LineVision, our product provides a cost-effective alternative to their current LiDAR solution, maintaining a "contactless" application to improve overall safety and system maintenance. At the heart of our device, the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 runs all our software and interfaces with our custom PCB. Overall, our low-power system achieves an accuracy within 1-2 degrees when measuring relative angle changes in target insulators. Additionally, it brings down material costs by over 93% from its existing LiDAR counterparts.
