With the rise of rapid development and urbanization in many parts of the world, a large number of high-rise buildings, underground facilities, and large petrochemical enterprises have emerged in many areas. Due to the special nature of these structures, firefighters who are responding to certain emergency situations, and civilians who are trying to escape from these structures are prone to greatly increased risks; fire disasters can be accompanied by smoke, chemical hazards, or even a radioactive material leak. In the face of these risks, it has become increasingly more challenging for firefighters to safely rush into the scene of a fire and perform their duties, and for civilians who are trying to escape the scene.

Enter FireBot, a robot that detects fire faster than regular smoke detectors using image processing and UV and IR sensors. The FireBot will be able to detect the fire and pinpoint its location, then sends it to the FireBot users. These functions do not exist in other product that detect fire. By detecting the fire quickly, civilians can escape the buildings, and firefighters can help evacuate and put out the fire before it spreads. Also, by pinpointing the location of the fire, firefighters can save time by immediately heading to that location and do their jobs more efficiently and for civilians to avoid that location in their escape route (if possible).
