As a department, we strive to provide the highest quality care. Therefore, we provide complimentary one-on-one and group trainings on a variety of techniques and procedures to all staff working within our vivaria.
Free Weekly OAR Rodent Handling and Euthanasia Training
In this training, available on a weekly basis, you will learn how to properly restrain mice and rats, perform CO2 euthanasia, and perform common secondary euthanasia methods. The training is intended to help both those who are new to rodent handling and those who could use a refresher on best practices. This training is for approved research personnel on an IACUC protocol that have completed a vivarium tour and have facility access and will be offered with two morning and two afternoon timeslots:
Mornings:
Tuesday 9-10am Gold-Transgenics (Main Campus) Procedure Room A2B-27
Friday 9-10am Wilderness Place Procedure Room 2-264
Afternoons:
Monday 3-4pm Wilderness Place Procedure Room 2-264
Thursday 3-4pm Gold-Transgenics (Main Campus) Procedure Room A2B-27
