On Oct. 28, Pendulum will present its first concert of the academic year. We reached out to Assistant Professor of Composition + Pendulum Director Annika Socolofsky—winner of the prestigious 2021 Gaudeamus Award—to get the scoop on the exciting work of the College of Music's new music concert series: "Pendulum is first and foremost a place for musical exploration—a chance for composers and performers to step out of their comfort zones and bring something brand new to life for the first time. We're a rowdy bunch that loves to take risks and experience a huge range of musical genres and aesthetics." Learn more and join us!

• University Libraries' "Exploring Equity in Open Scholarship" series, Oct. 25-29: six virtual events covering topics ranging from research as performance to publishing equity and more
• Graduate student town hall, Oct. 26: for graduate students, and faculty/staff associated with graduate education
• Students, faculty, staff invited to participate in Campus Culture Survey: Provide your anonymous feedback about experiences with hostile treatment, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment or sexual misconduct and the extent to which you feel respected, supported and valued.
• Volunteer for Homecoming, Nov. 4-6, and get a free T-shirt!
• Black Women and the American University, Nov. 15 via Zoom: Register for the first of two one-hour webinars exploring the legacy of Eileen Southern, author of "The Music of Black Americans: A History" and founder/editor of "The Black Perspective in Music." This program is part of a broader initiative at the Harvard University Department of Music.
