A U.S. premiere
The CU Boulder Treble Chorus was honored to perform the U.S. premiere of Alexina Louie’s “Rain Makes Its Own Night” last week during the esteemed Canadian composer’s on-campus residency.
On March 4, CU on the Weekend will feature several College of Music faculty in “Music of the Long ‘70s: Black Power, Punk, Jambands and Jewish Soul.” Join us!
CU Boulder musicology colloquium series: Check out the spring schedule! Next up, on March 13, Ana Alonso-Minutti (University of California, Davis) will present “The Mirrors of Sounds in Mario Lavista’s Music.”
On the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine: The European Music Council, in partnership with the German Composers Association, encourages the following: “We call upon all culture and music events taking place on 24 February 2023, to hold a minute’s silence in solidarity with Ukraine and for all the victims of this terrible war.” As well, the Metropolitan Opera will be livestreaming a concert, “For Ukraine: A Concert of Remembrance and Hope.” Discover more resources about Ukraine and efforts to support its cultural institutions in the Ukraine: Arts and Cultural Heritage research guide.
