2026 CU Boulder Guitar Summer Academy

The College of Music at the University of Colorado Boulder is thrilled to host the 2026 Guitar Summer Academy!

The CU Boulder Guitar Summer Academy offers a five-day immersion into the world of the classical guitar led by world-class faculty and guest artists at the newly renovated Imig Music Building on the beautiful University of Colorado Boulder campus.

Designed for high school students, participants will experience:

  • Five individual lessons—including one lesson on early music repertoire with Nigel North;
  • daily performance classes;
  • two lectures on music + research;
  • two Dalcroze workshops;
  • one Alexander Technique workshop;
  • three guest artist recitals;
  • entry to all Summer Academy concerts; and
  • a final performance featuring all Summer Academy participants!

The CU Boulder Guitar Summer Academy is a tuition-free program open to all high school students (limit 12 participants).

To apply, interested students must download, complete and submit a registration form (link below), and submit a short video of their playing. All registration materials must be received by Sunday, March 15, 2026.
