The College of Music will host a memorial for student Rob Miles at 7:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 2, in Grusin Music Hall. 

Miles, 22, died Dec. 8 in a skiing accident at Eldora Mountain Resort. He was a senior at CU-Boulder pursuing a double major in bassoon performance and environmental engineering. 

Robert Abraham Miles was inspired and mentored in music by John Nista at Ramblewood Middle School and Neil Jenkins at Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Florida, and most recently by Yoshi Ishikawa, professor of bassoon at the college. Miles won numerous honors and awards for his bassoon playing as a soloist and a member of various orchestras, bands, quintets, quartets and duets, and recently was re-elected to a second term as president of engineering fraternity Theta Tau. Read a complete obituary
