Day One
Required
In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 ("IRCA"), the University of Colorado Boulder must verify employment eligibility of each employee within the first three days of employment. Completion of Form I-9 is a shared responsibility of both the employee and the university. Form I-9 can be completed as soon as, but not before, a job offer has been extended and accepted.

- What to Bring: The employee should provide acceptable documents to complete the I-9. The document must be the original, unexpired version.
- Employees who are working out of the area or out of state should complete the Remote I-9 Assistance webform to request options for completing section #2 of the I-9 in their current location. All federal timelines still apply.

Your Buff OneCard is your official university identification and provides free access to local and regional bus services. It is also commonly used for building access, campus cash, campus services, and admission to select campus events.
- To get your Buff OneCard, email boc@colorado.edu from your CU Boulder email address (colorado.edu) and include the following:
- Your full name
- Employee ID # (6 digit number)
- Attach a photo using these guidelines:
- Face forward
- Plain, light background
- No hats or sunglasses
- Please include your mailing address if you are a remote employee and live more than 100 miles away from Boulder.

QuickStart is the dept of Human Resources virtual campus-wide orientation for new employees. Quickstart focuses on set-up in the employee portal, required training, enrolling in benefits and more. New employees should attend a QuickStart session on their first day or as close to it as possible.
When: Take within the first two weeks of your start date. QuickStart is offered the first of every month and subsequent Mondays.
- Who: New CU Boulder employees who are in a 50% or greater permanent position.
- How: No registration necessary! Zoom link provided by supervisor. New Employees should discuss with their supervisor/hiring manager if and when they should attend QuickStart.

Nice to Know
This orientation is for classified employees only. This in-person half-hour orientation is to introduce classified employees to their union. These employees will be requested to attend this orientation from their supervisor or by email invitation.
