Educational Technology Research Assistants (ETRA)

Who We Are
Educational Technology Research Assistants (ETRAs) are undergraduate staff members dedicated to supporting faculty, graduate instructors, and teaching assistants. ETRAs help explore when and how educational technologies can be used to enhance teaching and learning. They offer suggestions and recommendations aligned with instructors’ teaching goals, student learning styles, and course structures.
What We Do
Educational Technology Research Assistants are committed to improving the undergraduate learning experience. Their work is guided by the Students as Partners framework, emphasizing collaboration between students and instructors. You can hear CU faculty member Beth Osnes share her experience working with ETRAs here.
ETRAs provide training and support to help instructors and students use technology effectively in the classroom. They also offer consultation services, which generate visual representations of classroom observation data to support instructional reflection and planning. Additionally, ETRAs create media content designed to help students enhance their learning strategies—resources that instructors are welcome to share.
