The campus has seen an increase in reports of protected class harassment over the past few weeks. Various offices across the university, including within Students Affairs, ODECE and the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance are responding and ensuring that anyone impacted is connected with support services. Safety, and the welfare of our students, staff and faculty, remain the highest priority for our campus, and we are closely monitoring the campus climate and environment in light of recent events around the country.

The university will quickly respond to any cases of harassment or discrimination that target people based on their identity, and it will take all immediate action to ensure that we maintain a safe and nondiscriminatory environment for our entire community.

The university also has offices that can provide confidential counseling if community members have experienced discrimination or harassment: Office of Victim Assistance (OVA), Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) and Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPs). Student based advocacy centers include the Cultural Unity and Engagement Center, Women's Resource Center, Gender and Sexuality Center and Office of Veteran Services.

The university encourages all students, staff and faculty to report any incidents of protected class harassment. Even if you do not know the identity of the perpetrator, we would still encourage you to file a complaint. Please contact OIEC (cureport@colorado.edu, 303-492-2127) or law enforcement (University of Colorado Boulder Police Department, 911 or 303-492-6666 or Boulder Police Department, 911 or 303-441-3333).
