- The 2025 New Venture Challenge (NVC) culminated in a final showcase on April 23 with a live audience cheering on CU Boulder’s next exciting innovations. At an event filled with big ideas and even bigger entrepreneurial spirit, six teams competed for a record $325K.
- Dr. Bethany Ehlmann has been named director of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP), at the University of Colorado Boulder. LASP, whose mission is to advance scientific discovery and inspire the next generation, is the university’s highest-budget research institute.
- The Distinguished Research Lectureship is among the highest honors bestowed by the faculty upon a CU Boulder colleague. The deadline for nominations is Monday, June 2, 2025.
- CU Boulder and Raytheon, an RTX business, have announced a Master Research Agreement (MRA) that will pave the way to new benefits for the public through deeper research collaborations to benefit corresponding efforts at both organizations.
- Massimo Ruzzene, senior vice chancellor for research and innovation and dean of the institutes at the University of Colorado Boulder, has appointed Jane Zelikova to lead CU Boulder’s Sustainability Research Initiative (SRI).
- The Research & Innovation Seed Grant program will fund 15 new projects for up to $60K each. Including the 2025 investments, the program has provided more than $18.7M to fund more than 400 innovative projects across campus since 2008.
- “This new cohort adds to the growing body of faculty across campus that are honing their leadership skills to grow the impact they have on students, our community and their areas of specialty,” said Senior Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation and Dean of the Institutes Massimo Ruzzene.
