Who: T/TT Arts and Humanities Faculty who are interested in applying to the National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship program

Register for only one session: 10am-11am OR 4:30pm-5:30pm

Are you planning to submit a proposal to the National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship program? Join Donna Axel at this brief kick-off introduction to RIO’s Arts and Humanities NEH Fellowship Writing Series. From January through early April, participants will draft proposals and participate in peer editing to hone the narrative portion of their NEH Fellowship applications before the NEH April 14, 2021 deadline.

Because this is a series, in addition to this Kickoff event on January 19, we ask faculty to commit to the following:

  • Attend the January 21 NEH Fellowship Categories & Requirements 1 hour webinar (either 10am OR 4:30pm)
  • Meet 1 on 1 with Donna before February 11
  • Prepare a draft narrative for review by committed colleagues in February-early March
  • Peer review 3-5 proposals
  • Attend one peer review workshop in February-early March (TBD by faculty)

For faculty interested in applying to the NEH Fellowship program, this webinar will provide an opportunity to consider the detailed categories and requirements for NEH Fellowship proposals. Donna Axel will demystify the solicitation, bring attention to key details for developing a strong proposal, and share sample categories used in winning narratives. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have before beginning your draft!

NEH Fellowship Writing Program: Peer Editing Workshop

Who: T/TT Arts and Humanities Faculty who are interested in applying to the National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship Program

When: TBD, Faculty determine one convenient day/time (Feb. 11-18, 2021)

Facilitated by Donna Axel, faculty participate in one small group of 3-5. The workshop will provide space to discuss any feedback from the peer edits. In advance of this workshop, faculty will exchange drafts and provide comments using the NEH categories and requirements. Then, during this peer review session, faculty will discuss their comments and use the time to ask questions regarding drafts. Day/time TBD by faculty.
