Bacteria will be soon be under the microscope in outer space as four new CU Boulder-led biological experiments are set to begin aboard the International Space Station.

The space probe OSIRIS-REx arrives at the asteroid Bennu today after traveling more than 199 million km (124 million miles) across the blackness of space. It may be far from Earth, but it’s hardly on its own. Guiding it every step of the way has been a team of accomplished scientists and engineers with major University of Colorado Boulder connections.

Using a smartphone app, users assign musical notes and sounds to colors. Tap the ring on the color and it plays the designated sound through the app. Colors in about any form will work: magazine pictures, photographs, sticky notes, even clothes. Specdrums puts music at your fingertips.

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) has named two members of the CU Boulder research community to its class of fellows for 2018. Those elected to the NAI are inventors on U.S. patents nominated by their peers for outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.

A recent study out of Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management ranks CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business marketing faculty among the very best in the world. Authors of the study measured faculty productivity at 30 of the world’s leading marketing departments in the top academic journals in business and the social sciences.
