The Colorado Diversity Initiative's (CDI) mission is to increase the number and success of diverse students earning STEM doctoral degrees at CU Boulder. The CDI can support broader impact plans by:
- providing institutional and national data to meet solicitation guidelines; and
- assisting in preparing a targeted plan to recruit and retain underrepresented STEM PhD students through CDI programs:
- SMART, 10-week summer internship that prepares undergraduates for PhD study
- Colorado Advantage graduate preview recruiting weekend
- Diversity fellowships for admitted STEM PhD applicants as incentive to enroll
- Mentoring and professional development opportunities for STEM doctoral students
