The Center for Environmental Journalism (CEJ) focuses on the professional development of working journalists, student education, and research on media, environment and society. The centerpiece of programs for journalists is the Ted Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism.

CEJ supports broader impacts by helping future and current journalists communicate to broad audiences what researchers and other experts at CU and beyond are learning about humankind's impacts on Earth's life support systems. CEJ faculty also assist University of Colorado researchers in crafting and executing the broader impacts portions of grant proposals to the National Science Foundation.
