Updates and resources for our research community

Dear Principal Investigators, Deans, Chairs, Institute Directors and Associate Deans for Research,

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful start to the semester.

While we welcome the return to our vibrant campus, we also continue to face a challenging federal landscape. I am providing some updates and resources to help you continue to advance your research, scholarship and creative work.

If you’d like to stay current or get more involved, please:

If you are encountering funding shortages, slowdowns or staffing issues related to federal funding:

As you anticipate what the next few months may bring:

  • The next federal government funding deadline is Sept. 30, which means a federal shutdown is again a possibility, though there is some optimism it can be avoided; a campus team is monitoring the situation and will provide guidance in late September if a shutdown appears likely.
  • Continue to monitor the Research & Federal Funding website for research and innovation-specific information and guidance.
  • Prior communications on this topic to the Research & Innovation enterprise may be helpful and can be found here. (Identikey access needed.)
  • You can always direct questions to Buff Info, the university’s centralized point of contact for resources or information.

As I reflect on the last year and contemplate the year ahead, I am most proud of the adaptability of our community and all that we continue to accomplish together. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the pursuit of excellence through your work, your leadership and your service.

Regards,
