Inclement Weather Buff Bus Reroutes

When the weather outside is frightful...the bus is so delightful....let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. But remember snowy weather can cause road closures and bus reroutes. Review the Buff Bus Inclement Weather Reroute map for the Williams Village, Athens North and Discovery Express Buff Bus reroutes. Situations may occur where administration must change bus reroutes to accommodate safe and accessible roads to/from main campus. Students should check the CUBusTracker app for campus bus updates and reroute alerts. Commuting students riding to/from campus via RTD bus routes are encouraged to sign up and receive RTD Rider Alerts.

Reduced/No Service

There will be certain times during the fall and spring semesters when the Buff Bus runs on a limited schedule or does not run at all. When limited service or no service will be provided, Transportation Services will keep you updated with the schedule.

Lost & Found

If you lose an item while riding the Buff Bus you may check with any bus driver, on the same day, to see if it has been turned in. Items found on the buses and not claimed will be turned into Transportation Services' main office at the end of each day. Items will be kept for 30 days after which all unclaimed items will be donated or discarded.

Storm Tips & Delays

Certain areas become impassable during storms and construction and the Buff Bus may need to use alternative routes. Follow CUBuffBus on Facebook and Twitter for delays due to traffic and weather.  You can also text "followCUbuffbus" to 40404 to subscribe to Twitter.

  • Board the bus 30 minutes prior to your class start time to allow yourself enough time to arrive on campus.
  • During snow and inclement weather leave earlier for class times.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. If something doesn't seem right, alert your driver.
  • If the University of Colorado is closed, there may be no Buff Bus service.
