On Oct. 28, Pendulum will present its first concert of the academic year. We reached out to Assistant Professor of Composition + Pendulum Director Annika Socolofsky—winner of the prestigious 2021 Gaudeamus Award—to get the scoop on the exciting work of the College of Music's new music concert series: "Pendulum is first and foremost a place for musical exploration—a chance for composers and performers to step out of their comfort zones and bring something brand new to life for the first time. • On Oct. 25, educators and the community are invited to join His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with world-renowned scholars and K-12 educators, in a virtual conversation on cultivating compassion and dignity in schools. 
• Black Women and the American University, Nov. 15 via Zoom: Register for the first of two one-hour webinars exploring the legacy of Eileen Southern, author of "The Music of Black Americans: A History" and founder/editor of "The Black Perspective in Music." This program is part of a broader initiative at the Harvard University Department of Music.
