Seeking donated instruments
At the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music, our Campus Orchestra and Concert + Campus Bands provide a vital creative home for students campuswide, most of whom are not music majors. These ensembles—no formal audition required—perform one concert each semester, ensuring an inclusive space where students pursuing degrees in other disciplines (e.g., engineering, business, the sciences, etc.) can continue to make music.
For many, access to a quality instrument is the only barrier to participation; not all students have instruments in good repair and purchasing one is often financially out of reach. That’s where the College of Music steps in, offering instruments for rent at little or no cost so that all interested students may stay connected to music.
We’re currently seeking donated instruments of all kinds with particular needs for horns, cellos and tubas. If you have an instrument tucked away in a closet or attic, please consider giving it a second life through our College of Music! To explore donating an instrument, please contact Josie Moe, josie.moe@colorado.edu.
Your gift can place an instrument in the hands of a student and ensure that music remains an open door for all: Thank you!
