Degree requirements

Students in the Computational Linguistics Professional Master's Program complete at least 32 hours of approved coursework, including a 2-credit capstone course. The capstone focuses on a publishable research project that runs in conjunction with an internship or a CU-based research project, and students are evaluated by their industry project manager or faculty supervisor. Students also prepare a technical report on the completed project that the program directors and project leader jointly evaluate.  

Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 for graduation and the minimum course grade is a B, as per the Graduate School grade requirements

Total of 32 credits in the following categories

  • 3 Core Linguistics Courses (9 credits)
  • 2 Core Computer Science Courses  (6 credits) 
  • 5 Core CLASIC Courses (3 required & 2 electives, 15 credits)
  • CLASIC Capstone Course  (2 credits)
