These policies apply to student projects which involve flying UAS. This most commonly occurs with senior projects courses within the College of Engineering and Applied Science, but these policies apply to any student project involving unmanned aircraft. The Flight Operations Manual governs all flight operations conducted in association with CU. This requires that all aircraft, including student project aircraft, are inspected for airworthiness by OISC before being flown. Failure to follow these procedures can result in student project teams incurring personal liability for any damages that may result from flying their aircraft.

A summary of the policies for student projects is here.

A presentation given to student projects classes outlining OISC's expectations and details on how to conduct flight test is here. The handout given with this presentation is here.
