Dear colleagues,
We are following the news about the Wildfires near Lyons, Loveland-Masonville-Drake, and Deer Creek and know you may be personally impacted. In addition to the guidance and resources on CU Boulder’s HR Leave website, I want to share with you the below resources:
-
If you are working remotely and have lost power or WiFi to your home as a result of utility disruption and are unable to work, please notify your supervisor. We are also contacting supervisors of employees with known Lyons, Loveland-Masonville-Drake, and Deer Creek-area addresses, asking them to provide flexibility to employees who may not be able to work due to the impacts of the fire.
-
If you are required to evacuate, please take care of your personal needs and then notify your supervisor. You should follow up with your supervisor within 24 hours to take administrative leave or determine the next steps.
-
If you are teaching a class and are unable to teach or assess student work due to the impacts of the fire, please contact your department chair immediately so they can make arrangements for substitute instruction.
-
For additional questions about leave, please contact Human Resources between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on business days at 303-492-6475 or email ucbleavequestions@colorado.edu.
-
If you have experienced significant impacts and need financial assistance, visit the Staff & Faculty Emergency Fund website to learn more about applying for one-time emergency funds.
Please know the university is committed to supporting your needs. If you are displaced due to the fire, Boulder County, Larimer County or Jefferson County first responders will provide you with information about emergency shelters, food, and other resources. If that information is not available to you or if you need additional assistance, please contact Employee Relations for support.
We understand how difficult it can be to experience a fire near your home, and we want you to know that we are here to help. Please let us know if you need anything.
Sincerely,
Robyn Fergus
Vice Chancellor & Chief People Officer
