Important updates to the Rec Center

The Rec Center is committed to the health and safety of the CU Boulder campus community. Here are a few important updates to know before you come to The Rec.

For the time being, the Rec Center will only be open to CU students.

Plan your visit
In order to gain entry to the Rec Center, students must have a Rec Center membership and valid Buff OneCard. Some areas like the main weight room, annex weight room, climbing gym and indoor pool require reservations, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance if you plan on using these spaces!

Face coverings and physical distancing
All students must wear a face covering at all times and maintain 6 feet of distance from others while in the Rec Center.

Cleaning protocols
Students are also required to wipe down equipment before and after use. Rec Center staff will provide additional cleaning throughout the day, especially in high-traffic areas like restrooms and fitness areas. The Rec Center will be closed from 1 to 2:00 p.m. for cleaning each day.

*All full fee-paying students have access to the Rec Center.

While things may be different this semester, there are still plenty of ways to find your fit at the Rec Center on campus.

Reduce stress and have fun

Fitting movement into a hectic schedule can be challenging, but it can also help you to relieve stress and feel better throughout the day. Schedule a break to relax after class with group yoga or get your endorphins pumping through cardio or strength training. You can also take the edge off by bouldering in the climbing gym, swimming laps or joining an intramural league.

Meet new friends

If you're looking to meet people with similar interests, The Rec is the place to be. There are a ton of ways to get involved, make new friends and find connections! Here are just a few ideas to get you started:

Try something new

Trying something new at The Rec can help you discover new hobbies and find your passion. Whether you want to try out backpacking, test a new workout, train for your first 5K or learn how to dance, The Rec is a great place to explore new activities. Whatever you choose to do, take advantage of everything the Rec Center has to offer.
