Outdoor Trips and Courses

Boulder and the surrounding areas are the perfect setting to recreate and enjoy the great outdoors. Outdoor Pursuits offers a variety of trips and courses located in and around Boulder and throughout the state. Take advantage of learning new skills and exploring all that the area and state has to offer!
Trips and courses are designed with the beginner CU Boulder students in mind. Our goal is to introduce and develop your skills so that you can be proficient when you head out with your friends or one of the amazing student organizations on campus. Membership to the Rec Center is required to participate in all trips and courses.
Avalanche Courses & Winter Activities
Courses include avalanche safety, skiing, snowshoeing and more.
Visit a national park during fall, spring and summer breaks.
Take advantage of these great courses that will get you ready for any climbing adventure.
ECenter Bike Clinics and Classes
Explore local trails as you learn the basics of biking
Learn the basics of fly fishing on Colorado rivers and streams.
Outdoor Pursuits offers a wide variety of hiking and backpacking courses.
Make lifelong connections, memories and try out some outdoor activities before the semester begins!
Learn the basics of kayaking in the pool and on the river.
Courses include outdoor climbing trips and techniques for bouldering and rope climbs.
Courses include beginner to advanced scuba, including refreshers.
Join a free workshop to learn a variety of outdoor skills.
Earn your Wilderness First Responder certification.
