Graduate students, mark your calendars for important graduation deadlines, funding opportunities, and professional development workshops


Graduation Deadlines

Aug. 4 

Doctoral students, grade changes must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous or current semesters by this date.

Aug. 5 

Master's thesis plan students must submit the thesis and Thesis Approval Form (TAF) to ProQuest by this deadline. The thesis must be submitted electronically for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The single page TAF must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement. 

Aug. 11 

Master’s students, grade changes must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous semesters by this date. 

Aug. 16 

Deadline for summer doctoral and SLHS-MA graduates to update diploma name or address in Buff Portal.

Grad+ Writing Retreat 

  Aug. 26–29, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day   C4C, Flatirons Room, N301

Are you working on your dissertation, thesis, publications or papers? Join us for the August Writing Retreat—a four-day, in-person event designed to give you the time, space and support to focus on your academic writing. Each day kicks off with a quick, practical session on topics like writing strategies, overcoming procrastination and building sustainable habits. Then we dive into independent writing time. A Writing Center consultant will be available for one-on-one feedback on your work. Start your fall semester strong, build momentum and make real progress on your writing goals. 

Coffee and light breakfast provided for those who RSVP (space is limited).
