The Anthropology Department encourages eligible majors (GPA of 3.3 overall and in the major) to graduate with Honors in Anthropology by taking the senior honors seminars (ANTH 4710 and 4720), completing an independent research project, and writing an honors thesis. This honors program offers students the opportunity to work closely with a faculty advisor and complete a major research project.  Students interested in conducting research for an honors thesis should contact potential faculty advisors as early as possible, and with the understanding that faculty mentors generally expect an advisee to have taken at least one course with them.

If you are interested in exploring this option of graduating with honors, please see the undergraduate advisor, Kara Lentz.
