The University of Colorado has been undergoing a system-wide effort to streamline and improve the its Finance (FIN), Human Capital Management (HCM) and other systems, which had not been updated in roughly a decade.
HR Corner: Recognizing people with disabilities is critical to achieve inclusive excellence
Typically, when we think of building an inclusive and diverse community, it is racial/ethnic, gender and gender identity diversity that immediately comes to mind. Also, many times, members of a diverse population are thought of on a univariate dimension and not on a multiple layers. However, there is one underrepresented group of people whom contribute to diversity across all races, ethnicities, ages and genders; people with disabilities.
October is Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Abuse Awareness Month
Domestic violence, also known as intimate partner abuse, is best understood as a pattern of abusive behaviors–including physical, sexual, and psychological abuse as well as economic coercion–used by one intimate partner against another to gain, maintain, or regain power and control in the relationship. If you are concerned about a relationship you are in or have been, or if you are concerned about a friend’s relationship please contact CU’s Office of Victim Assistance.
Tips for using the HAWK light on Regent near Colorado
The HAWK (High-intensity Activated crossWalK) light on Regent Drive near Colorado Avenue has been provided by the city of Boulder to allow pedestrians, bikers and boarders a safe way to cross a busy street. Learn to code with CMCI's coding immersion workshop
The College of Media, Communication and Information is hosting an immersive coding workshop for those interested in learning the building blocks of web design. This hands-on introductory workshop will last three days, Oct. 28 through 30, and costs $30 for CU students, $40 for non-students.

Theatre stages Carlo Goldoni’s ‘The Servant of Two Masters’
CU Boulder’s 2016-17 theatre season continues with a heartwarming, hilarious production of “The Servant of Two Masters,” a classic Italian commedia dell’arte by 18th-century playwright Carlo Goldoni. Performances of the play, directed by CU Associate Professor Tamara Meneghini, take place Oct. 19-23 in CU’s Loft Theatre.

CU Boulder-connected startup Mallinda pushes ahead on reusable carbon-fiber composite
What’s one way to cut a car’s weight by 50 percent and improve fuel efficiency by up to 40 percent? Make it out of carbon fiber instead of steel. Alumnus Chris Kaffer, co-founder and CEO of Denver startup Mallinda, believes his company’s reusable carbon-fiber composite can play a vital role in making vehicles more efficient. Now, a $750,000 grant will help move the vision forward.
