Board of Regents hears from students and faculty on DACA, immigration; reviews budget proposal; approves master's in higher education
During the February 2017 meeting at the Boulder campus, the University of Colorado Board of Regents heard from students and faculty regarding DACA, immigration and other issues. The board also heard a 2017-18 budget proposal, which proposes a merit pool increase, and approved a new MA degree in higher education.
COLTT 2017 now accepting proposals to lead conference sessions
Lead a session at the Aug. 9 and 10 Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology (COLTT) conference! The committee welcomes meaningful sessions on innovative ed-tech tools and practices. Proposals due April 10.
Hear the results of learning management system evaluation surveys
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a town hall presentation to learn about the learning management system evaluation initiative. Sessions are offered Feb. 27 and March 1.
Pushing Boundaries: Deaf student helps deaf refugees find their voice
Since sign languages differ greatly from country to country, refugees immigrating to the U.S. have an especially difficult time adapting. Linguistics graduate student Pamela Wright is not a refugee, but, as a deaf person, she's finding ways to make their transition better.

Staff Council Update: Town Halls on Diversity and Inclusion
CU Boulder Staff Council, in partnership with the Diversity and Inclusion Summit, is holding two town halls on Tuesday, Feb. 21 where students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come listen and contribute to our open discussion on diversity and inclusion on our campus.
U.S. Anti-Doping Agency CEO Tygart to deliver public lecture Feb. 21
The Sports Governance Center will host Travis Tygart, CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency as this year's Distinguished Lecturer. Tygart will speak next Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the third floor auditorium of the CU Athletic Department Champions Center. He has been recognized by Sports Illustrated as one of "The Most 50 Powerful People in Sports," and in 2013 was named to the "Time 100" list of most influential people in the world. The lecture is open to the public and there is no admission fee.
Ethics and Compliance Brown Bag to discuss graduate student accommodations
The Feb. 27 Ethics and Compliance Brown Bag event will feature a presentation by John Meister, Jill Sieben-Schneider and Joe Andenmatten from Disability Services on the subject of graduate student accommodations.
CU professors join comedian Shane Mauss in Fools for a Day event
Join comic Shane Mauss and University of Colorado Boulder professors Adam Bradley and Peter McGraw for an evening of learning and laughter at the Fools for a Day event Rock, Rap, and Laughter on March 8 at Old Main Chapel.
