Hey, Buffs! We hope you enjoyed a nice Labor Day off. As you head back to campus, consider attending some cool events this week.

This week brings a student job fair, “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” a problem-solving workshop, meal prep tips, a show narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, startup pitches, spirit day and more.

On-campus Student Job Fair 

2–4:30 p.m. UMC South Terrace Tent 
Are you looking for an on-campus job? The Student Job Fair is a great place to start. Both hourly and work-study positions are currently available for undergrads and grads.​​

Idea Builder: Social Impact

 5–7:30 p.m.  Eaton Humanities, Room 250
Idea Builder helps build problem-solving and teamwork skills. Attendees will have the chance to win $500 from the CU Boulder Get Seed Funding team during the event. Anyone with a Buff OneCard can attend. 


Thursday, Sept. 7

Mindful Eating and Meal Prepping 

 4–5:30 p.m.  UMC 425 
Home-cooked meals aren’t always accessible. Meal prepping can help you prepare for the moment hunger strikes. The Basic Needs Center is here to help you build a thoughtful and healthy weekly meal plan. 

Startups2Students 

 5–7 p.m. Virtual 
Startups are young companies with the possibility of growth. During this virtual event, hear different startup companies pitch their ideas and discuss open positions. Afterward, you will be able to get in contact with them and find out how to get involved. 

Solar Superstorms narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch

 7–8 p.m.  Fiske Planetarium $8–$12
Benedict Cumberbatch is taking planetarium visitors on a journey through the sun. Viewers will witness a fiery sun tsunami and other hot events.


Friday, Sept. 8

Spirit Day on the Quad

 11 a.m.–2 p.m.  Norlin Quad
Show your Buff pride during spirit day before CU takes on Nebraska (Saturday). In the heart of campus, Buffs will get free food, free game-day gear, win prizes and play games. Sko Buffs! 

Goss Grove Block Party

 5–8 p.m.  Emma Gomez Martinez Park, 2035 Canyon Blvd. 
Goss Grove is a neighborhood located in downtown Boulder. Considering a future home here? Get to know the area and community with a free block party, featuring fun games and food. (Don't miss the University Hill Block Party on Sept. 7.)

Friday Night Film Series: ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’

 8 p.m.  CHEM 140 
Check out a screening of “Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure,” starring Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and George Carlin. The 1989 comedy follows the journey of two high schoolers traveling through time for a history presentation.

Student Gameday Huddle

Welcome to the first tailgating event of the football season! This event will be held at the same time as Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff. There will be free food, giveaways, games, music and the possibility to be chosen as the Student Fan of the Game.

CU in the Community: Ralphie’s Green Stampede

 8 a.m.–2 p.m.  Folsom Field 
Help support sustainability with Ralphie’s Green Stampede. Volunteers will gain skills in event operations, zero waste and sustainable leadership.
