Numerous CU Boulder graduate-level programs landed in the top 20 in the newly released 2024 U.S. News & World Report rankings.

U.S. News does not update its rankings for every program each year. In the publication’s 2024 issue, CU Boulder maintains previous rankings or has taken new positions in a number of disciplines.

Atomic/molecular/optical physics ranks the highest, coming in at No. 4 in the nation. That’s among all schools—both public and private. Other CU Boulder graduate programs ranking in the top 10 nationally include: geology (7); aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering (8); physical chemistry (8); and clinical psychology (10).

Programs ranking in the top 20 were: quantum physics (11); psychology (12); condensed matter physics (13); Earth science (14); audiology (14); secondary teacher education (15); civil engineering (16); chemical engineering (17); environmental/environmental health engineering (17); physics (17); sociology of population (17); engineering (19); and speech-language pathology (20).
