This week brings a free Zumba class in celebration of Women’s “Herstory” Month, a talk on the importance of storytelling in suicide prevention, Pizza & Perspectives: India, the Mobile Food Pantry and more.

Monday, March 18

Green Hands

  5–6 p.m.    UMC 415–17
Join International Student & Scholar Services and the Environmental Center to learn how to transform your lifestyle to sustainable living with some fun and relaxing crafts! They will be making personal care products.

Zumba for Her Soul

  5–6 p.m.    Rec Center, Studio 2
Join the Rec Center and Center for Inclusion & Social Change for a a free Zumba class in celebration of Women’s “Herstory” Month. The class will feature a playlist that centers on women and femme artists or musicians. This will be a space for empowerment and celebration. Free admission.

Phoenix Rising

  5–8 p.m.  ECCR 155
Clinical psychologist Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas, an inspirational international speaker and impact entrepreneur, will discuss the importance of storytelling in "sharing your story of lived experience with suicide" and how that can help with the healing process. Spencer-Thomas was moved to work in suicide prevention after her younger brother, a Denver entrepreneur, died of suicide after a difficult battle with bipolar condition. RSVP is required.

Hijab Fashion Show

  6–9 p.m.    UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom 
Join the Middle Eastern Student Association for CU Boulder's second-annual Hijab Fashion Show. This event is free and open to the whole campus community.


Tuesday, March 19

Pizza & Perspectives: India

  Noon to 1 p.m.    C4C S350
Come hear different Indian student perspectives on culture, life in the U.S. and life back home, plus get a chance to ask your own questions. Free pizza too.

Widows movie screening

  7–9 p.m.  Chem 140

Join the CU Program Council and Cultural Events Board for a relaxing night and screening of the film Widows! Widows is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities.

Are you skipping meals or groceries due to lack of financial resources, making hard choices with what bills to pay and/or running out of food at the end of a pay period? The Mobile Food Pantry is bringing fresh produce, dairy and pantry items to campus.
