Monday, Feb. 11

Silicon Flatirons Conference: Internet Platforms’ Rising Dominance, Evolving Governance

8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Wolf Law, Wittemyer Courtroom
This annual technology policy conference will explore emerging forms of governance of platforms and evaluate the appropriate strategies for overseeing internet platforms. Makan Delrahim, Assistant Attorney General, Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice, will give the keynote address.

Hip Hop: Dead or Alive?

Join the Center for Inclusion & Social Change, Dennis Small Cultural Center and Black Student Alliance during the spring Diversity and Inclusion Summit as they welcome facilitator Shawn Moore in a discussion about the state of hip hop today.

Intent vs. Impact: Improving Inclusive Interactions

Too often, diversity and inclusion experts hear about individuals or groups receiving well-intended communication from others that leads to unwanted or harmful impact. This dynamic can play a key role in leaving individuals or groups feeling divided—and in preventing our progress as an inclusive community. The goal of the spring Diversity and Inclusion Summit is to continue work to bridge this gap and lessen the divide between intent and impact.

Panel discussion: What can I do with this degree?

Stop by this panel discussion where CU Boulder alumni of philosophy, history, English, German studies will answer questions about how their careers unfolded after they earned their bachelor’s degrees.

Love Your Body: Free strength training for women and men

7:30 and 8:30 p.m.   The Rec
Learn about proper strength training technique from a certified personal trainer in a welcoming, inclusive setting. Strength training for those who identify as women will be from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m., and for those who identify as men from 8:30 - 9:30 p.m.
