This week brings to campus the Education Abroad Fair, Ralphie's Cooking Basics class, Pizza & Perspectives on China, the Avery Bang talk, International Coffee Hour, a film screening and more.

Tuesday, Sept. 4

Hit the Bricks exhibit

Stop by the CU Heritage Center, on the third floor of Old Main, to check out the Lego version of the CU Boulder campus. Roughly a million Legos take the shape of the CU Boulder campus. The Heritage Center is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Wednesday, Sept. 5

Complete health requirements

All students are required to have health insurance during their time at CU Boulder, and must complete the health insurance requirement by Sept. 17. Students must meet this requirement their first semester at CU Boulder and every fall semester thereafter. New students must complete the health insurance and immunization requirements by Sept. 17.

Reminder: Last day to add a class in MyCUInfo

Today is the last day to finalize your fall schedule. After today, you'll need instructor and/or department permission (requirements vary by department) to add a class to your schedule. 


Thursday, Sept. 6

Education Abroad Fair

Stop by the UMC fountain area from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn about the hundreds of programs in 65 countries that are available to you through Education Abroad. And grab some swag while you are there.

Ralphie’s Cooking Basics

Learn how to make teriyaki chicken and rice at the first Ralphie's Cooking Basics session of the semester! Sign up at 5:15 p.m. at the Alferd Packer Grill; space is limited to the first 15 people who sign up. Arrive early and wear closed-toe shoes to participate.

Pizza & Perspectives: China

Stop by the UMC room 247, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for some free pizza and hear different Chinese student perspectives on culture, life in the U.S. and life back home; plus, get a chance to ask your own questions. 

Stranger Things laser show

Experience the ’80s tunes and soundscapes from the show Stranger Things reinterpreted in Fiske Planetarium's vibrant laser lights. Join from 9 to 10 p.m. under Fiske's dome.


Friday, Sept. 7

International Coffee Hour

Stop by the UMC across from the Alferd Packer Grill, 4–5:30 p.m., to unwind at the end of your first week of school at the semester's first International Coffee Hour. Drop by at the same time each week to drink free coffee, eat free snacks and meet awesome new people.

Sneak peek: Mountainfilm

Stop by the Museum of Natural History at 1 p.m. to preview Mountainfilm, an exciting reel of short films inspired by the natural world. The event is free but seating is limited.

Avery Bang lecture

Bridges to Prosperity CEO and College of Engineering and Applied Science alumna Avery Bang will give a free talk, "Building Bridges to Prosperity: From Master's Thesis to a Career." Join at 7 p.m. in BESC 185.
