*) is scheduled to be decommissioned and turned off on July 31, 2018.

If you own content on the www-legacy server you will need to submit your contact information so we can identify current site/file owners and work with you on this transition.

If you are not sure what www-legacy means, you can use the Legacy Retirement Project website to help determine if this impacts your website or files.

What you should do

The first step is to report any sites and/or files you have on www-legacy using the www-legacy site report form.

This includes reporting HTML websites, CGI scripts, files or other content currently running or stored on the www-legacy server. Submitting this information will help us coordinate efforts to identify the appropriate service to relocate your files. In addition it lets us know who we should work with to relocate these files.

If you do not take action, you will lose any files remaining on the www-legacy server at the time of decommissioning on July 31.

We know this may inconvenience some customers, however, as an alternative to www-legacy, the campus has invested in much more robust services, such as Web Express, Canvas and Google suite to meet web content needs.

Why is www-legacy being decommissioned?

The www-legacy server hardware is antiquated, poses security risks and is no longer financially feasible to support. To learn more about the www-legacy retirement and the reasons for it, please visit the www-legacy retirement website. If you have questions about the www-legacy server, please contact the IT Service Center at help@colorado.edu or call 303-735-4357 (5-HELP from a campus phone).
