This Week at the College of Music: Student Edition - Oct. 20, 2022

Pendulum New Music—soon to be redubbed CU Boulder SoundWorks—celebrates a new approach to composition and conception: “We value a broad aesthetic range of sound-based art that is inclusive of all genres and manners of music making, ranging from concert music to songwriting, electroacoustic to jazz, experimental and beyond,” says Pendulum Artistic Director Egemen Kesikli. • “Drowsy Chaperone” celebrates the joy of musical theatre—“For the faculty and students in the university’s Bachelor of Music/Music Theater program, [the] combination of madcap fun and careful character study made ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’ an ideal choice as a piece for the fall semester.” We look forward to this opportunity to celebrate the joy of musical theatre! • On Oct. 28, the College of Music’s Diverse Musicians’ Alliance (DiMA) presents performers of music, dance, poetry, visual art/photography and other forms of art in “Atlas”—an annual show featuring diverse voices, food and art forms, open to all genres and majors. Learn more about this iteration of our longstanding Diversity in Performance event.
