This Week at the College of Music: Student Edition - April 1, 2021
Each spring, talented students across the College of Music vie for a chance to perform with the CU Symphony Orchestra the following school year. The two outstanding winners of our 2021 Honors Competition are Ethan Blake (BM cello) and Anita Dumar (AD violin): "I’m pinching myself!" Dumar says. Meet Ethan and Anita here, and watch for their performances with the University Symphony this fall.
In further winning news, DMA student Julia Taylor (violin) won $1K in the New Venture Challenge. Her innovative idea? Chinlax—a smart violin chin rest that helps violinists practice form and develop healthy practice habits. Additionally, the CU Boulder Trumpet Ensemble advanced to the quarterfinals of the 48th Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, as well as the finals of the 2021 National Trumpet Competition. Congratulations to all!
