This Week at the College of Music: Community Edition - Nov. 10, 2022

Congratulations to Peyton Hall Magalhaes, cello, who won first prize in the 2022-23 Bruce Ekstrand Memorial Graduate Student Performance Competition on Nov. 8! Performing works by Miklós Rózsa and Reinhold Glière, he was awarded the grand prize of $2,000. Magalhaes studies with Associate Professor of Cello David Requiro. Learn more about the annual competition.

• Huge congratulations to Professor of Musicology Rebecca Maloy who has just been named Distinguished Professor! Maloy was recognized for her distinguished research, her dedication to teaching and mentoring, and for her service to her profession and the university. Says Dean John Davis, “Join me in congratulating Rebecca Maloy for attaining this, the highest honor the university bestows.”
