Faculty and Staff 2025 Engagement Survey
Dear faculty and staff,
We’re requesting your participation in CU Boulder’s 2025 Faculty and Staff Engagement Survey to help inform our ongoing efforts to improve the work experience for all faculty and staff. The survey is sponsored by Chancellor Justin Schwartz and Provost Russell Moore and will be open from April 15 through April 30.
Why:
Staff and faculty recruitment, retention, quality of work life, and overall well-being are significant priorities for our university. The engagement survey helps us gauge how we are progressing in those areas. Previous surveys were conducted in 2017, 2020, and 2023. The anonymous insights you provide will help us better understand your experience, and they will inform initiatives and strategies we employ going forward. We are committed to using the results to grow upon the successes we identify and address the opportunities to improve.
Taking the survey:
- Dates: April 15-30, 2025
- Time commitment: 10 minutes
- How to take it: Online survey via phone, tablet or computer.
- You will receive an email on Tuesday, April 15, from the Arthur J. Gallagher and Co. email address admin@ajgsurveys.com. The email will include a link specific to you for taking the survey, so the link should not be shared with others.
- No personal identification: The survey is entirely anonymous.
Learn more:
- This survey is separate from the Campus Culture Survey conducted in 2021, yet will be complementary and, in some instances, give us updated data to track progress.
- The survey will measure concepts like wellness, job satisfaction, commitment, affinity, career growth, teamwork, progress, and communication on institutional priorities, and others.

The survey is crucial for us as leaders and for CU Boulder’s growth as a desirable place to work, teach, and conduct research. The success of this survey depends on a high response rate. We appreciate your participation and all you do for our students and our university.
Sincerely,
Robyn Fergus, Vice Chancellor of Human Resources
