CU Experts Direct

Boulder Skyline

CU Experts Direct is working to pilot how to better share information about the scholarly works of CU Boulder faculty and researchers on campus websites.
By reusing existing workflows and data sources the CU Experts Direct is working to highlight the amazing accomplishments of our faculty, save faculty time, and promote the reputation of the university.

Winner of the 2019 Innovation Buffs competition the CU Experts Direct project is intially working with the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) and the CU Population Center (CUPC) located in the Institute for Behavioral Science (IBS) on the design of modules and plug-ins to better share information about faculty publications from CU Boulder faculty and researchers. CU Experts Direct is a partnership between the Office of Data Analytics and the Office of Faculty Affairs with support from Strategic Relations and Communications.

Part of Experts Direct and need to update your publication data?

  • Active faculty: All individuals with any type of active faculty appointment (tenure-track faculty, research faculty, teaching faculty, part-time or temporary faculty) at the Boulder campus can be included in the faculty profiles on CU Experts.
  • Researchers: Though the bulk of the CU Experts profiles involve faculty, professional exempt staff who are conducting research may also contribute their research interests through FRPA Online with a special access code available by sending a request to frpa@colorado.edu.
This information includes all of your publications currently claimed in our campus CUBE (CU Boulder Elements) reporting application. Login at elements.colorado.edu to add more publications.  Publication types include books, chapters, journal articles, scholarly editions, and published conference proceedings. Publications must be claimed in CUBE before they will appear on your CU Experts profile and may take 48 hours to appear. For CU Experts’ profiles, publication details from an automated source such as Web of Science or PubMed are chosen over a manually added record faculty may have added for the same publication. Faculty still have full choice over what information shows on their FRPA. Relying on an authoritative source like Web of Science means the bibliographic citation on CU Experts might differ from what shows on your FRPA.
